The Robot 500 is a monthly ranking of advanced robots: humanoids, robot dogs, collaborative robot arms (cobots), drones, service robots and air taxis, each ranked only against robots of the same kind, on published and sourced evidence. Household robots such as vacuums, mowers and pool cleaners are compared in RankedRobot's buying guides instead.
It is published by RankedRobot, the independent robot specification and comparison database. RankedRobot's research and QA desks, which are AI-assisted and work under fixed sourcing rules, compile the data; every figure carries its source and the date it was checked. Tilanka Dahanayake, Founder and Editor and a researcher, sets the method, signs off each monthly ranking and rules on disputed corrections.
"500" is the name of the ranking, not a count: today 76 robots are ranked, and the list grows as makers publish evidence.
Independence
Rankings are never for sale. There are no paid placements and no manual overrides; advertisers, sponsors and affiliate partners cannot see or influence scores.
